William V. Manning

William V. Madden (1868- 1921) was an American architect who designed a number of Catholic churches, schools, convents and rectories in Rochester, New York.
==Personal life==
Born in Rochester, New York in 1868 Madden was a representative of one of the oldest families of Monroe County. After an education in the local parochial schools he supplemented his education in the local high school and the Mechanics Institute. He then began his business career by entering into the architectural practice of W.F. Kelley and J. Foster Warren, one of the most successful architects in the city.
Madden entered into a 5-year practice with Thomas W. Finucane and later formed a practice with Edwin S. Gordon under the name of Gordon and Madden (1902 – 1918).
